General Information
Q: WHY ARE YOUR PRICES SO GOOD??????? A: We are a "lean and mean" operation, utilising advance software and management systems, thereby minimizing staff and hence costs. A: We buy our products directly from the manufacturer wherever possible thereby cutting out the middle man. A: We buy in bulk. A: We own our premises and are not subjected to the often ridiculous and ever increasing rents being charged out there. A: We are not greedy! A: And finally, we have a lot of customers. So the more we get, the cheaper still we can sell our product!
Q: What is your Company Name and ABN? A: The Modern Home PTY LTD. ABN: 19 110 180 446
Q: Do you have a showroom? A: No. The location shown is our warehouse. However, occaisionally we sell ”scratch & dent” items from our warehouse, with viewing by appointment only. "Scratch & Dent" items are listed as clearance items on our eBay store - themodernhomeoz. Feel free to call or email/message us if you have any further questions.
Q: What if I see something on your website that I like, but the colour or size doesn’t quite fit? A: Contact us! We may be able to get something custom made for you, or we may not have been able to put everything on the website (yet).
Q: There is something I specifically want, but you don’t have it… A: Email us a photo! You’ll never know, it might be in the pipelines, or, we can find or custom make it for you.
Sales and Payments
Q: I’d like to know how much freight is before I decide, can I do that? A: Yes, freight will be calculated for you instantly after you register and enter your shipping/billing information at Checkout; street address, suburb, contact details, etc. You are under no obligation to purchase after you have entered those details. You may just exit if you do not wish to proceed.
Q: I don’t have a PayPal account, how can I pay? A: You can pay with your credit card through PayPal, it doesn’t require an account to be opened (anymore!). Simply click on the PayPal icon at Checkout and follow the instructions. PayPal accepts VISA, MasterCard and American Express.
Q: Are my payments on your website secure? A: Yes. PayPal is an international payments system and it's safe, reliable, and secure; thus it is the only method of payment on our website.
Q: Can I do an EFT? A: Yes, please email us the items you wish to purchase with your delivery and contact details and we will email you back an invoice.
Q: Where can I get a discount code? A: Promotional discount codes are distributed through our mailing lists, and on our Facebook page as well as Twitter. So make sure you join and “Like” them!
Q: Can I pay upon delivery? A: Our couriers are third parties and are not able to receive payments. Payments must be made on our website or via EFT prior to despatch.
Delivery
Q: I’d like to know how much freight is before I decide, can I do that? Q: Can I come and pick up the product? A: Unfortunately we cannot facilitate customer pick up.
Q: How do I track my order? A: You will be emailed a tracking number within 5 working days of placing an order and you may then track it by going to the tracking icon on our homepage.
Q: How long does it take for my order to arrive? A: Delivery times to various parts of Australia are estimated as follows: - Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide: 5 to 7 working days after despatch - Perth, Alice Springs, Darwin, Hobart, Launceston – 7 to 10 working days after despatch - Country/Rural Areas are usually 3 – 5 working days above times to major centres - Delivery times may vary depending on size and bulk of the items ordered
Q: How much is delivery? A: Delivery charges are instantly calculated at checkout when you enter your delivery address. We have secured Australia’s largest and most reliable couriers to deliver your products.
Q: Does delivery have transit insurance cover? A: Yes.
Warranty Q: How long is your warranty period? A: Our products carry a minimum 12 month warranty, except for wallpaper and certain accessories. In some cases, sofas for example, are (much!) longer. Please check the WARRANTY tab in the product page for warranty details specific to that product.
Q: What happens if a fault develops during the warranty period? A: Please contact us immediately and cease using the item. Send us an email describing the problem, along with photos and/or videos if necessary. A staff will then contact you within 2 working days. (Warranty conditions apply.
